A hike in Ploumanac’h, in the town of Perros-Guirec, is an opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful parts of the Pink Granite Coast which extends approximately from Trébeurden to Paimpol.
The colors change according to the time, the tide, the clouds. It is a magic always renewed.
Park at the port of Ploumanac’h, one of the most protected on the north coast of Brittany. Observe on the left the two tide mills that separate the port from the Trauero Valley, another idea of an enchanted walk, this time in the woods.
After admiring the boats, walk along the harbor to the right and follow the white and red markings of the GR34.
The trail meanders through a forest strewn with rocky chaos. Some are so tight that they form “secret” passages. You have to lower your head to cross them below. Various points of view open on the castle of the island of Costaéres. A little further, a small beach with tree trunks transformed into a seat is an opportunity for a break.
After the chapel of Saint-Guirec, we arrive at the beach of Saint-Guirec on which we discover a curious oratory surrounded by the sea at high tide. The legend mentions that single girls having stung a needle on the saint’s nose, will get married before the end of the year, if the needle remains planted there.
On the other side of the beach, the trail starts again. The coast is then wilder. Rocky chaos accumulates in a merry mess of roses. The imaginary awakes at the sight of these forms elaborated nature. Children see various animals and characters and love to jump from one rock to another.
The trail leads further to the coastal house and to a lifeboat ramp.
To avoid a round trip, you can reach the park where granite statues are exhibited, along the campsite, then you take the direction of the school Ploumanac’h. Traverse Street allows you to reach the harbor.
